In the days and weeks to follow, anyone who cares will have access to the TRUTH as it relates to why I have been forbidden to coach the team (at Cal Poly) that I have put together, that I have trained, and that I have prepared to be a squad capable of challenging for the NCAA Championship. Most people would scoff at such a bold proclamation. However, if you check my bio at any number of places, importantly including my performance and record over the last 10 years of coaching Women's Division I volleyball (at Saint Mary's from 2002 - 2005 and (most recently) at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo (from March, 2005 through the current time, you will most likely come to the conclusion that I am highly effective at my job. It is A FACT that at both institutions I was able to take lowly ranked programs and in short order brought each into preeminent status within Women's, Division I volleyball. At St. Mary's, we set the ALL TIME record for greatest assention in Nation ranking (there going from 247 to 11 over three seasons) and at Cal Poly, we may very well be 2nd amongst all time records of NCAA Championship volleyball, taking the Cal Poly Mustangs from 237 when I took the job in March of 2005 to a ranking of 9th by the conclusion of the 2007 season.
At this time, I have been forbidden from coaching my team and as a result, I can only sit idly by while they lose matches that they would have won had I been able to be at the helm of my team. I only want to put you all on alert to be in a position to decide for yourself what is truth versus fabrication, right versus wrong, and what may happen going forward. I will not be able to communicate specifics until this matter is brough to a conclusion (I believe sooner rather than later). But it is certain that I WILL get the volleyball TRUTH as it relates to my coaching position at Cal Poly as soon as possible.
